About the position

The Financial Analyst position at the World Bank Group involves working within the Treasury Quantitative Analytics and Modeling (CTXQM) team. The role focuses on developing analytical tools, performing data analysis, and supporting various functions related to Assets and Liabilities Management (ALM). The analyst will engage in market research, report generation, and validation of analytical results, contributing to the organization's mission of leveraging the private sector to combat poverty and promote prosperity.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the development of analytical tools and utilities for new products and initiatives.
  • Assist in validating results and publishing reports from the new ALM Analytics system.
  • Analyze and validate results based on portfolio positions and market movements.
  • Resolve discrepancies and anomalies in results.
  • Publish reports to clients.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting to clients using analytical tools and programming languages.
  • Implement productivity-enhancing utilities and applications.
  • Analyze terms and conditions of complex derivatives transactions and process trade-related documents.
  • Support daily market data processing updates and reconcile internal valuations with market counterparts.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of individual and group work and procedures.
  • Monitor and check the quality of data, investigate anomalies, and react to various processes for report generation.
  • Evaluate and streamline routine processes and implement innovative ideas using new technologies.
  • Implement and maintain exotic derivatives valuation models on the Numerix OneView platform.
  • Participate in the TANGO project, including design and testing activities.

Requirements

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or master's degree in a technical field (e.g., math, engineering, statistics, econometrics, or finance) with at least two years of relevant market experience, or an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline with at least four years of relevant market experience.
  • Knowledge of fixed income mathematics, derivatives, and information technology.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • High motivation to enhance productivity and efficiency using computer systems.
  • Attention to detail and reliability of output.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a diverse global team.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain analysis logic.
  • Commitment to producing error-free reports and routine tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in Finance or Mathematics and/or experience in fixed income analysis.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters, Summit (Misys) is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in systems and applications used in the team including Summit, Numerix, Asset Control, Bloomberg, Reuters, C++, Python, VBA, Oracle, Excel.
