About the position

The Financial Analyst position is responsible for maintaining and updating corporate financial models and plans, as well as managing key financial reporting functions. This role supports the organization's strategic goals by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering data, analyzing balance sheets, and producing net interest income forecasts related to interest rate risk, aligned with profitability goals.
  • Coordinate asset/liability modeling and conduct various analyses with external vendors.
  • Prepare financial reports for external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies (Federal Reserve Bank, FDIC, IRS, etc.) accurately and on time.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned areas.
  • Participate in budget processes and provide variance analysis.
  • Assist in preparing and developing the company's operating and capital budgets, including monthly analysis and reporting to the Assistant Controller.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly Liquidity Stress Testing and coordinate credit stress testing with the lending team as required.
  • Analyze financial data and performance against peers, reporting findings to management.
  • Assess loan, investment, deposit, and borrowing pricing and yield components.
  • Prepare and present monthly analysis of the investment securities portfolio.
  • Conduct profitability and financial analyses for existing and potential products, services, programs, and departments.
  • Evaluate new brokers for investment services and perform annual reviews of existing brokers.
  • Maintain effective controls, systems, and procedures within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Stay informed of accounting, regulatory, tax, audit, and industry developments, and assess their impact on financial operations.
  • Assist in developing financial reports for evaluating potential investments.
  • Generate daily, monthly, and quarterly financial and regulatory reports related to the Bank's investment portfolio, budget, and overall financial performance.
  • Prepare quarterly qualified collateral reports for submission.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience as a Financial Analyst
  • Minimum of five years of experience in accounting or finance, with a preference for banking experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent through specialized coursework and training.
  • At least two years of experience in financial reporting and analysis, including a solid understanding of GAAP in a banking environment.
  • Preferred experience in interest rate risk management and investment securities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage large amounts of detailed information with accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
