The Financial Analyst position is crucial for supporting the company's integrated financial system, focusing on gross margin analysis, costing, and inventory accuracy. The role involves preparing financial reports, analyzing data trends, and providing insights to aid organizational decision-making. The analyst will also develop financial models and automated reporting tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports and projections based on financial data; month-end financial reports.
• Evaluate current and previous financial data.
• Study business and economic trends.
• Conduct margin analysis.
• Perform product line profitability analysis.
• Produce matrix reporting.
• Create financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision-making.
• Develop financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
• Analyze industry trends and make recommendations based on those trends.
• Evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation.
• Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
• Provide information necessary for all financial audits.
• Support and manage sales tax systems to ensure company's state compliance.
• Compare actual costs to budgeted costs and analyze variances.
• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for cost accounting activities.
• Perform physical inventory control and reporting.
• Assist with cycle counts/physical inventories, and analyze the cost accounting data.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts with a focus on the accounts relating to sales, costs, inventory, and liabilities.
• Execute gross margin analysis and report on findings.
• Assist with internal and external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Business Administration
• 2+ years of Finance/Cost Accounting/Controller Experience (preferably within Manufacturing industry)
• Knowledge and experience with SAP
• Familiarity with tax preparation and accounting software.
