About the position

The Financial Analyst at Nature's Touch Inc. plays a crucial role in the plant finance team, responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting to support the Plant Leadership and HQ Finance teams. This position involves maintaining the internal control environment and developing a deep understanding of plant operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and variances in financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly and monthly analysis of actual costs versus targets.
  • Identify root causes of variances and participate in efforts to reduce variances.
  • Partner with other plant team members to identify, implement, and measure cost reduction projects.
  • Review and close manufacturing batches, ensuring accurate recording of all batch transactions.
  • Capture and analyze data for weekly reporting on plant and division KPIs.
  • Provide explanations and insights during the weekly performance review with Sr Ops Leadership.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of inventory transactions and accuracy, ensuring required approvals for all adjustments.
  • Participate in the physical inventory count process.
  • Prepare journal entries, inventory reserve calculations, account analysis and reconciliation, and internal control documentation for the month-end close process.
  • Assist with the preparation of periodic forecasts and the annual budget process.
  • Manage all costing models and files and maintain internal control documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of an accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP).
  • Strong analytical skills along with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-starter with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and problem solve with limited supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Finance/Cost Accounting experience preferred.
