About the position

Amentum is seeking a Financial Analytics PBI Business Systems Analyst IV to play a crucial role in analyzing existing or proposed systems and designing data processing programs and related procedures to effectively process data. This position involves a comprehensive multi-step process that includes systems investigation, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance to bring new or modified systems online. The role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work location, but requires US Citizenship due to the nature of the work and potential security clearance requirements. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports that support various business operations. Ensuring data accuracy and consistency across all reports is paramount, as is the ability to analyze data trends and provide actionable insights aimed at improving overall business performance. The analyst will also be tasked with developing automated reporting solutions to streamline data analysis processes, which will enhance efficiency and effectiveness in reporting. Collaboration is key in this role; the analyst will meet with decision-makers, data owners, and end users to define reporting requirements and goals. This includes developing reporting procedures, models, and protocols that align with business needs. Staying current with industry trends and best practices in data visualization and analytics is essential to ensure that the organization remains competitive and effective in its data-driven decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business operations.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reports.
  • Analyze data trends and provide insights to improve business performance.
  • Develop automated reporting solutions to streamline data analysis processes.
  • Meet with decision makers, data owners, and end users to define reporting requirements and goals; develop reporting procedures, models, and protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • At least seven years of job-related experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, report development, visualization, and dashboard creation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries and working with large data sets.
  • Strong understanding of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating complex calculations and measures.
  • Proficient in creating data models and experience with data modeling techniques such as star and snowflake schemas.
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools like SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure for data storage, processing, and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and keeping up to date with the latest tools and technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools other than Power BI.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and applications.
