The College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the University of California - Riverside is seeking a Financial and Administrative Officer (FAO) to join our team within the Interdisciplinary Programs and Centers. This role is pivotal in providing oversight and coordination of financial and administrative support functions for various academic units, including Global Studies, Labor Studies, Liberal Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, Southeast Asian Studies, Latin American Studies, GLUCK, and the Latino and Latin American Studies Research Center, among others. The FAO will report directly to the Divisional Financial Officer and will be responsible for managing the daily operations of these programs and centers, which encompass financial management, human resources, academic support, contract and grants administration, facilities management, and other operational matters. The FAO will play a crucial role in ensuring that the total operating budgets for these units, which exceed $5.5 million, are managed effectively. This position requires a high level of organization and the ability to achieve broad goals for the units served. The incumbent will be tasked with identifying objectives, developing strategies, and implementing policies while working autonomously in collaboration with Program Chairs, Center Directors, and the Divisional Financial and Administrative Officer. The FAO will also be responsible for business accountability, stewardship, publicity, and support functions to meet the mission of the University and the specific goals of the College. This position offers a salary range of $71,100 to $128,700 annually, with an expected pay scale of $71,100 to $99,900, depending on various factors such as education, experience, and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization to accept a staff position at UCR, as the University is unable to sponsor employment visas for staff positions.
