About the position

The Financial Benefits Coordinator at Alltru Credit Union plays a crucial role in enhancing member services and community engagement. This position focuses on building relationships with local employers to provide financial products and services that benefit their employees. The coordinator will leverage sales skills and strategic insights to support the credit union's mission of saving members' money and time, while also contributing to business development and community presence initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high level of member service in alignment with the credit union's Service Promises.
  • Develop, build, and maintain relationships with local employers to enhance employee benefits and meet financial needs.
  • Meet established sales and service Minimum Performance Standards consistently.
  • Maintain adequate product knowledge as measured by annual certification assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Community Development Manager and Vice President of Marketing on programs and operational strategies.
  • Assist in opening new member applications and onboarding new products.
  • Process online member applications to ensure completion and compliance.
  • Represent the credit union with new employer targets and maintain professional communication.
  • Counsel employees and community members on improving credit scores and financial well-being.
  • Assist members with inquiries, ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements.
  • Represent the credit union in meetings with local employers and public events.
  • Participate in Credit Union training and meetings.
  • Develop financial literacy programs in partnership with local employers.
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment consistent with the credit union's core values.
  • Encourage critical thinking and new ideas among Alltru employees.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience speaking to groups of up to 100 people.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and balance diverse projects.
  • Strong event planning and execution skills.
  • Creative and detail-oriented to adapt to market changes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general office equipment.
  • Mathematical skills for assessing statistical data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or business development.
  • Familiarity with community development financial institutions (CDFI).
