About the position

The Financial Business Analyst II, FP&A role at Avanos Medical is a pivotal position within the Commercial organization, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This role is designed for a highly visible and influential member of the commercial finance team, tasked with providing financial partnership and advisory services to the leaders of the Global Commercial organization. The analyst will support the Surgical Pain and Game Ready businesses, focusing on driving profitable growth through proactive analysis and strategic recommendations. Responsibilities include full P&L ownership, financial planning, reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance business strategies and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial advice and counsel on all pertinent commercial matters to the Surgical Pain and Game Ready BUs by supplying ongoing, timely, and meaningful financial analysis related to revenues, expenses, and profitability.
  • Effectively communicate financial performance across the organization.
  • Support month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate results.
  • Lead the quarterly forecast, annual budget, and long-range plan process for the Surgical Pain and Game Ready businesses.
  • Collaborate with the Product Supply team to analyze gross margins.
  • Enhance operating expense visibility and bring accountability to spending activities with budget owners.
  • Partner with the Sales and Marketing teams to build decision models and pro-formas for business cases.
  • Partner with the Commercial Operations team to develop sales quotas.
  • Work with the Director to evaluate internal and external strategic opportunities.
  • Assist and lead special ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance or analysis role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or other related field.
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks, work under strict deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills to deliver effective communications and presentations, including to senior executives.
  • Broad understanding of finance, economics, business management, and strategic planning.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to build financial models, reports, and tools.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA
  • SAP, BPC, and Power BI experience
  • Prior knowledge, exposure, or general interest in the medical device industry.
