About the position

The Financial Business Analyst at Astrion will support the Space Division at Kennedy Space Center, FL, by analyzing processes and activities to enhance business applications for optimal resource utilization. This role involves utilizing computer systems and personnel to conduct analyses that support management's performance improvement goals, including reviewing and analyzing information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Estimate project costs based on labor and other direct costs.
• Monitor and approve procurement requests based on planned budget.
• Track and report actual versus budget costs to support weekly and monthly schedules.
• Create financial reports for laboratories and review regularly with management and customer focused on trends, performance, variances, and estimates to complete.
• Recommend alternative solutions to management as to courses of action that best meet the organization's goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Five (5) years of related experience.
• Experience with Excel and pivot tables.
• Ability to forecast based on actuals and stay within budget goals.
• Ability to analyze costs compared to budget and drivers of variances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Costpoint preferred but not required.
• Experience with Maximo preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to foster strong relationships with mixed technological experience such as auditors, business professionals, and engineers.
