Financial Business Intelligence Developer

About the position

We are currently looking for a Financial Business Intelligence Developer to join our growing team! In this role, you will be responsible for building reporting that provides financial information to stakeholders across Brightspeed. You will be a part of the Finance department and will report directly to the Manager, Financial Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Extract data from Big Query, build and maintain reports in Power BI, and support financial systems through migration and testing requirements.
• Understand business needs and problems, and partner with stakeholders to provide reporting that can drive more informed decision-making.
• Source and structure data for reporting, compiling user requirements, building reports in Power BI, and maintaining documentation on dashboards.
• Conduct data analysis including evaluating different data tables and compiling the data in a manner that is consistent with expected reporting outcomes.
• Ensure that data is accurate, ties to reported results, and escalate any issues to appropriate stakeholders.
• Support various projects such as data warehouse migrations, QA testing, and data integrity assurance initiatives.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in software development, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of work experience in finance and/or coding.
• Strong analytical and report development skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to write and understand SQL queries, and familiarity with using Big Query to source data.
• Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Big Query, and experience with financial systems.
