About the position

The Financial Care Counselor is responsible for using the assigned scheduling system to book outpatient and/or inpatient appointments and to gather appropriate patient information. This role requires taking initiative for planning and time management, demonstrating effective clerical skills, and implementing organizational skills to ensure accuracy, precision, and attention to detail. The counselor also understands the importance of teamwork in marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Use the assigned scheduling system to book outpatient and/or inpatient appointments.
  • Gather appropriate patient information.
  • Assume responsibility and initiative for planning and time management.
  • Demonstrate effective implementation of clerical skills.
  • Implement organizational skills for accuracy and precision.
  • Understand the importance of marketing teamwork.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years experience in a patient registration/patient accounting role, required.
  • ACPAR certification, preferred.
  • Broad experience with healthcare information systems including customer service, patient registration, patient estimations, and point of service collections, preferred.
