Our Finance and Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) practice is seeking skilled professionals to join us at the Manager level. This role offers a unique blend of opportunities, combining the career growth associated with a public accounting firm while operating in private company environments daily. We provide comprehensive accounting, technology, and consulting services to private, lower middle market clients, with revenues ranging from $0 to $100 million. Our diverse industry base includes technology, life science, not-for-profit, consumer products, and professional service organizations. As a Manager in our FAO practice, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the accounting and finance functions for multiple clients, effectively acting as their Controller and CFO. This position requires working to deadlines and managing a multitude of accounting activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, year-end audit support, and budget and forecasting activities. You will also have the opportunity to learn and utilize our best-in-class cloud-based technology stack, enhancing your skills in emerging technologies such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Accounting BOTS. In this role, you will interact extensively with clients, including CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and VPs of Finance, while overseeing a team of managers, supervisors, senior associates, associates, and client service representatives. Your responsibilities will include managing and coaching your team to ensure timely and accurate completion of work, conducting initial assessments, implementing processes, and onboarding new FAO clients. Responsibilities

  • Overall day-to-day management of the accounting and finance functions of multiple clients in a shared services environment playing the Controller and CFO role of your clients
  • End to end Grant Management
  • Participate in client design sessions to analyze requirements and redesign business processes in connection with FAO best practices
  • Lead, manage and coach client services representatives, associates, senior associates, supervisors and managers
  • Review client's monthly financial statements including month over month variance analysis and/or actual to budget analysis
  • Analyze and interpret financial information for client management and provide actionable insight and decision support
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the client's monthly operations and suggest process improvements
  • Understand our technology stack and identify additional add-on processes, systems, modules, and integrations that can drive month end close efficiencies
  • Define and document repeatable methodologies with appropriate tools and templates that can be leveraged for future projects
  • Establish engagement budgets
  • Direct initial assessments, implementations and onboarding of new FAO clients
  • Write service agreements and statements of work
  • Participate in meetings with new client prospects and in the proposal process

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with federal government, federal government awards, grant management is required
  • CPA is required
  • 8+ Years experience in Accounting
  • Experience in a public accounting firm, consulting firm or other professional services environment preferred but not required
  • Progressive experience in accounting and financial management in a corporate accounting environment, in roles such as accounting manager, assistant controller, controller, director of finance, CFO
  • Strong technical financial accounting (GAAP) knowledge
  • Strong management accounting and operational finance knowledge
  • Experience in the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function (financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, etc.)
  • Proven leadership, management and coaching skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with sensitivity to timeframes, budgets, and outcomes across multiple clients/projects
  • Experience with automated accounting systems (i.e. Intacct, NetSuite, Blackline, Bill.com, Tallie)
