About the position

The Financial Controller for National Accounts at The Raymond Corporation will oversee financial operations and lead the team responsible for the National Accounts subsidiary. This role involves managing the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and enhancing internal controls. The controller will also mentor team members and provide financial analysis to corporate stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of all financial activities.
  • Ensure compliance with approved accounting policies and maintain financial records required for statutory and operational needs.
  • Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely completion.
  • Mentor and coach team members, sharing expertise and promoting training and development opportunities.
  • Manage performance through clear goal setting; engage in timely and meaningful performance evaluations and discussions to foster an environment of open communication.
  • Provide financial information and analysis to Corporate Finance, the VP of Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Review and guide standard and non-standard monthly journal entries, analyzing unusual entries or balances.
  • Analyze variances from approved budgets or forecasts to evaluate performance.
  • Develop and maintain standard work processes for National Accounts Finance, applying Toyota Production System concepts to improve quality.
  • Prepare or review annual audit schedules, including the annual inventory observation process with reconciliation of book to physical counts for the external audit.
  • Lead annual budget and annual forecasting processes.
  • Prepare ad-hoc and pro forma financial reports for business leadership as required.
  • Support the Group Accounting Manager and VP of Finance in developing strategic plans, Hoshin goals, and related KPIs.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Eight or more years of professional experience, including at least three years of management experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of business and accounting principles and practices is essential, including familiarity with US GAAP, SOX, IAS, and IFRS.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical abilities, organization, and computer skills are necessary.
  • Strong listening and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to lead and promote a collaborative team environment.
