About the position

The Financial Controller at Vogue Equity is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, particularly in the real estate sector. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger. The Financial Controller will also supervise the accounting department and assist with various financial analyses and reporting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepares trial balances, financial statements, and consolidations.
• Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations to sub-ledgers and other supporting documentation.
• Conducts financial analysis and provides interpretation of accounts and records.
• Prepares journal entries and reconciles and analyzes accounts/ledgers.
• Performs monthly close process, ensuring the general ledger is well maintained and closed out in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
• Participates in quarterly and annual closes.
• Assists the Controller with day-to-day accounting activities and supervises other accounting department staff.
• Handles ad-hoc reporting and special projects as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of direct and relevant experience in finance or accounting.
• Experience in commercial and residential real estate is a plus.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Strong management and interpersonal skills.
• Strong Excel skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of Yardi is a plus.
