About the position

The Financial Controller/Special Projects related to Finance is a senior-level role focused on overseeing financial management within an apparel manufacturing environment. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and financial services, with an emphasis on enhancing financial policies and procedures to improve operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial statements, bookkeeping, and accounting rules, while also serving as a liaison between finance and other divisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of financial management and services within the apparel manufacturing environment.
• Prepare and interpret financial statements accurately.
• Enhance financial policies and procedures to improve operational effectiveness and compliance.
• Interface with other divisions and act as a troubleshooter for financial issues.
• Resolve internal conflicts between finance and other divisions.
• Delegate tasks and make decisions as necessary.
• Converse with customers and vendors when needed.

Requirements

• Must have an apparel manufacturing background.
• Knowledgeable in bookkeeping and accounting rules, CPA preferred but not necessary.
• Understanding of the difference between an expense and an asset.
• Familiarity with depreciation rules.
• Ability to prepare and read financial statements.
• Logical business savvy mindset.
• Experience in managing people and recognizing their talents and strengths.
• Proficient in QuickBooks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in distributing or manufacturing is a plus.
