About the position

The Financial Controller at SLEA Therapies is responsible for leading the organization's financial processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role encompasses all aspects of financial management, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and data management, while also overseeing the accounting team and collaborating with the leadership team to achieve financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's financial processes and responsibilities.
  • Perform all accounting, financial processing, reporting, and related data management functions.
  • Manage and maintain all QuickBooks functions, including accounts reconciliation and AR/AP management.
  • Oversee payroll management and workers' compensation administration.
  • Prepare for tax and audits, and manage contract and budget tracking and forecasting.
  • Adhere to and improve existing internal controls while complying with GAAP.
  • Provide financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation and advising departments on data collection and analysis.
  • Evaluate and improve internal accounting processes to align with organizational goals.
  • Oversee cash and bank reconciliations and manage relationships with financial institutions.
  • Review and post journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Coordinate the preparation of information for external accounting firms for annual reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years in a senior-level accounting or finance managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of federal and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage time effectively.
  • Experience with various data systems, including EMR and accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves
