The Financial Controller at Graco is a pivotal role that provides financial leadership for the business unit and is an integral member of the management team. This position is responsible for preparing comprehensive financial analyses and collaborating with management to develop strategic initiatives and operational plans. The Controller plays a crucial role in reviewing the impacts of pricing strategies, marketing programs, and customer contracts, as well as capital investments, providing insightful recommendations to enhance business performance. Compliance with company management and accounting policies is a key responsibility, alongside coordinating the annual planning process and periodic re-projections, which may involve collaboration with regional finance functions as necessary. In addition to these responsibilities, the Controller is tasked with developing processes that facilitate the analysis and reporting of sales, margins, and expenses. This role also assists in the implementation of corporate-wide financial and operational metrics, defining and executing operating measurements and reporting systems to track progress against operational targets and goals. The Controller is expected to prepare and present reports and materials for operational reviews, proactively identifying areas for improvement and assisting in the implementation of process enhancements. Supervising the accounting staff across all business unit locations is another critical aspect of this role, ensuring the completion of the annual factory plan and periodic re-projections. The Controller collaborates with factory management to ensure that manufacturing transactions and controls are effectively in place, developing factory operating measurements and reporting to manage performance and analyze the cost of goods sold. Furthermore, the Controller oversees local accounting functions, ensuring compliance with management and accounting policies, the development and maintenance of internal controls, and appropriate coordination with corporate finance functions. The role also involves coordinating with corporate finance functions, including corporate reporting, cost accounting, tax, and treasury, to ensure timely and accurate reporting and analysis. The Controller assists with internal and external audits and is responsible for the documentation of internal controls and management testing within the business unit. Additionally, this position may involve assisting in financial and operational due diligence for acquisition targets and supporting acquisition integration efforts. The Controller will also play a role in implementing enterprise information systems and completing special projects as assigned.
