About the position

White Brenner LLP is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of the firm, which encompasses various legal practices including civil litigation and environmental law. The role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, driving financial strategy, and supporting the firm's growth objectives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on the firm's financial performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate billing, collections, and accounts payable/receivable processes.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget and recommend corrective actions, if needed.
• Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and resolve any issues, if needed.
• Oversee cash flow planning and management to meet the firm's operational needs.
• Work closely with the Managing Partners and other firm leaders to align financial goals with the firm's strategic objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Experience with legal accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Orion) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Able to bend and lift boxes up to 35lbs.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
