About the position

The Financial Controller at Worldwide Perishables Enterprises (WWP) is a key role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company. This position involves implementing and maintaining financial policies and internal controls, managing budgets, cash flow, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Financial Controller will also analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecast.
• Responsible for cash management.
• Implement cost accounting system with inventory control.
• Responsible for Treasury, including bank covenants and compliance.
• Ensure that the company's internal accounting policies are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, and are documented and current.
• Analyze financial and non-financial operating data and income statements making appropriate recommendations and reporting variances.
• Analyze budget variances and report significant issues.
• Work with internal and external auditors to support financial audits and tax preparation.
• Work closely with CFO on key strategic initiatives and special projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting / Finance / CPA Preferred
• At least 5 years strong financial accounting, management and reporting experience.
• Experience in food distribution, logistics and/or manufacturing.
• Expert in MS Excel; proficiency with other MS Office applications.
• ERP Experience: BC / SAP / or similar.
