About the position

The Business Office Manager at Heritage Inn of Barnesville plays a crucial role in overseeing the business office operations, ensuring confidentiality of records, and managing accounts receivable. This position is integral to maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the organization's mission-driven approach to healthcare. The manager will work closely with patients, families, and insurance companies to facilitate financial processes and contribute to the overall success of the center.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Business Office to maintain confidentiality of clinical, personnel, and business records.
  • Maintain an accurate census of patients.
  • Interpret and analyze accounts receivable reports to provide correct balances and collect outstanding balances.
  • Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and government agencies to collect outstanding receivables.
  • Conduct pre-admission financial counseling for prospective patients to determine payor sources and available services.
  • Discuss financial concerns with patients and families.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance payment regulations.
  • Adhere to procedural guidelines for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Patient Trust Fund.
  • Promote the image of the System through servant leadership and open communication.
  • Contribute to committees, workgroups, and collaborative efforts within the System.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a business office supervisory capacity, preferred.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with associates, patients, family members, and visitors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of various business application software.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
