About the position

This position is a vital member of the accounting team, responsible for ensuring the overall integrity, reporting, and timeliness of all cost accounting data that populates the SAP General Ledger system. The role involves applying principles of accounting and finance to identify trends related to product costing, plant performance, and product profitability using data gathered from the SAP system and other company sources. The individual will turn data into actionable information and communicate findings to various facets of the business to highlight successes and opportunities for improvement. This is an onsite/hybrid position, requiring a blend of in-office and remote work. The essential duties include supporting programs that ensure overall costs are understood and clearly communicated within the business. The individual will partner with the Cost Accounting Manager to lead the month-end close process for the team and prepare and distribute corresponding financial reporting. High-level time management, prioritization, and communication skills are essential to meet the needs of both internal and external business partners. Responsibilities also include compiling and reporting various transactional data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities, and providing support for Co-Pack pricing and contract compliance. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the administration and oversight of cycle count programs and inventory control, as well as aiding in the creation and analysis of profitability matrices to enable customer-level performance analyses. The individual will work closely with the Supply Chain group to monitor raw material costs and their impact on overall product costing. Serving as a key point of contact, the individual will play a proactive role in the timely and accurate completion of annual financial audit documents and responses. The position also requires identifying, capturing, and documenting departmental processes and workflows, as well as engaging in special projects, analysis, data interpretation, and forecasting. The individual will interface with the SAP ERP system in support of the business and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 3-5 years of financial analysis or cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with standard costing and variance reporting in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, particularly SAP, and Microsoft Office Applications.
  • High integrity while dealing with confidential information.
  • Detail-oriented.
