About the position

The Financial Crimes Associate at Figure will play a crucial role in managing alerts and escalations related to potential fraudulent activities. This position focuses on fraud detection, mitigation, and loss prevention across lending and banking products, ensuring compliance with federal laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will balance customer experience with fraud prevention while applying analytical skills to identify trends and propose solutions to management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of the Bank Secrecy Act and Fraud Program, focusing on transaction monitoring and fraud incidents.
  • Monitor assigned operational tasks to identify fraud and minimize loss by escalating incidents to management as appropriate.
  • Deploy mitigation strategies that balance customer satisfaction with fraud prevention.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws related to bank secrecy and anti-money laundering.
  • Evaluate customer transactions and applications for evidence of fraud and BSA targeted acts.
  • Escalate incidents to ensure compliance with federal reporting timeframes for suspicious activity.
  • Assist in transaction monitoring and the administration of alerts.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience related to anti-money laundering, fraud, or compliance in a financial institution or relevant law enforcement experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with effective judgment and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of Fraud and/or AML operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and prepare clear written documents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CAMS, CFE or compliance certifications favorably considered.
