About the position

The Financial Crimes Data Analytics, Compliance Manager at Freddie Mac is responsible for driving the Financial Crimes Program through advanced data analytics and technology solutions. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to design, implement, and execute data-driven solutions that enhance fraud detection and compliance efforts. The position requires a proactive individual with a strong analytical mindset, capable of leveraging tools like SQL, R, Python, and BI reporting tools to deliver insights and support regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Drive efficiency and impact through self-service analytics using BI tools and data science techniques.
  • Provide information and data to support management and regulatory reporting.
  • Deliver standard metrics and reports while innovating on new ways to access information and perform data analytics.
  • Explore opportunities for integrating Financial Crimes data across applications to support reporting, fraud identification, and investigations.
  • Support the technology infrastructure that drives the Financial Crimes Program.
  • Deliver data and analytics solutions through calculation of indicators and data monitoring activities.
  • Use SQL, R/Python to deliver views that support business decisions.
  • Design and deliver reports using data visualization, analytics, and BI reporting tools like Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI.
  • Implement automated analysis to support reporting and continuous monitoring.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into user stories for Financial Crimes application development and implementation.
  • Perform data quality reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience in data analytics or compliance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Math, Computer Science, Information Technology); advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in Data Science, Data Governance, and Financial Crimes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Financial Crimes detection preferred.
  • Ability to extract and perform analytics through SQL and R/Python.
  • Proven experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Financial Crimes related certifications (e.g., CFE, ACAMS) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply curiosity and critical thinking to turn data mining and analytics into business solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Compliance or Risk Management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation.
