About the position

The Financial Data Analyst at Ascendion plays a crucial role in monitoring and optimizing cloud financial performance through data analytics. This position involves creating dashboards, analyzing financial trends, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. The analyst will also develop financial models and stay updated on cloud cost management tools and practices, contributing to innovation and process improvements in financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cloud financial performance using data analytics tools.
• Create and maintain dashboards to visualize key metrics and KPIs.
• Analyze trends and anomalies to support cost optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Develop and support financial models for cost attribution.
• Ensure financial tools are user-friendly, scalable, and up to date.
• Stay informed on cloud cost management tools and FinOps practices.
• Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and process improvements in cloud cost management.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of FinOps practices and frameworks.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP preferred; Azure is acceptable).
• Proficiency in data analytics, visualization, and financial modeling tools.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, and/or Apptio BI.
• Expertise in Apptio Cloudability.
• Ability to translate business requirements into actionable product deliverables.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of ETL methods, processes, and standards.
