About the position

Tube Supply is seeking a dedicated Financial Analyst to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in leveraging company data to enhance decision-making processes across the organization. You will work closely with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for data utilization, ensuring that our financial models and analytical reports are not only accurate but also actionable. Your expertise will be essential in assessing the effectiveness of data queries and managing the connection of databases to various modeling software and programs. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a variety of financial models and analytical reports that support the accounting function. You will build and design visualizations, including dashboards and Excel models, to help stakeholders monitor and track the organization's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Additionally, you will monitor analytics and metrics derived from data models, providing insights that drive strategic decisions. Your role will also involve supporting the sales contract quoting process by developing tools that enhance efficiency and timeliness. You will analyze market, customer, and vendor data to assist in improving sales pricing strategies in real-time. Furthermore, you will evaluate inventory levels and trends to streamline the supply chain function, ensuring that our operations remain efficient and responsive to market demands.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside key stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive decision-making processes.
  • Create and maintain various financial models and analytical reports to assist the accounting function and provide actionable information to management.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of queries and their sources.
  • Successfully manage the connection of databases to modeling software and other programs.
  • Build and design a variety of visualizations including dashboards and Excel models to help key stakeholders monitor and track the organization's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor resulting analytics and metrics from data models.
  • Support sales' contract quoting process by developing tools to improve timeliness and efficiency.
  • Cultivate market, customer, and vendor data to analyze, assist, and improve sales' pricing strategies in real-time.
  • Evaluate inventory levels, trends, and needs on an ongoing basis to help streamline the supply chain function.

Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of Information Systems (database management, best practices, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience in statistics, financial modeling, data modeling, etc. (GLM, regression models, and various other statistical analysis).
  • Intermediate/advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic Studio.
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
