About the position

As a Financial Editor at GfK, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and clarity of financial research produced by our analysts across various verticals. Your primary responsibility will be to edit and refine written content, focusing on maintaining consistency in style and tone while ensuring that the information presented is both accurate and concise. This position is based in Boston, MA, and is part-time, allowing for flexibility in your working hours. You will be expected to manage multiple deadlines effectively, as the workload will vary based on the timing of releases, which occur weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly across more than 20 verticals. In this role, you will collaborate closely with analysts of varying experience levels, providing constructive feedback to enhance their writing skills and ensuring that all content adheres to GfK's Style Guide. Your editing will not only involve correcting grammar but also ensuring that the research messages are conveyed clearly to our clients. You will need to have a solid understanding of the financial industry to identify inconsistencies in arguments and ensure that the data presented aligns with the conclusions drawn. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be paramount as you strive to deliver high-quality content that meets the needs of our clients. Additionally, you may be involved in writing and editing marketing materials and participating in daily team calls to discuss ongoing projects and strategies. Responsibilities

  • Edit financial research written by analysts to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, style, and tone.
  • Work with analysts to create and publish releases on a weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly basis across 20+ verticals.
  • Ensure that content provides substantive conclusions based on the latest data and that written content and charts align with the data.
  • Verify that estimates and data in the text, charts, and tables match those in the sell-out model.
  • Ensure that content is grammatically and stylistically correct, clearly written, and in a neutral tone that does not imply a sell-side recommendation.
  • Ensure that releases adhere to GfK's Style Guide.
  • Help onboard new analysts to learn and write according to the Style Guide.
  • Provide constructive feedback to analysts to improve their writing ability.
  • Occasionally write and edit marketing materials.
  • Participate in daily team calls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 2-5 years of editing/writing experience preferred.
  • Experience within the financial industry (buy-side/sell-side, financial news organization, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, written, and verbal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple deadlines.
  • Adequate understanding of the financial industry to edit content and spot inconsistencies in arguments.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • Obsessive attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality excellence.
