The Analyst, Financial Investigations at MGM Resorts International plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) laws and regulations. This position is integral to the MGM Resorts community, focusing on the auditing, reviewing, and analyzing of financial transactions to identify and investigate suspicious activities. The analyst will work closely with the Compliance Department to ensure that all financial transactions are properly investigated and reported, adhering to the necessary regulations across all lines of business. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of compliance protocols to mitigate risks associated with money laundering and violations of Title 31 regulations. In the day-to-day operations, the Financial Investigations Analyst will ensure that the Financial Investigations Department (FID) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures are met. This includes ensuring the accuracy of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) filed with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and assisting Compliance Directors in resolving Title 31 compliance issues. The analyst will establish and maintain working relationships with staff at all levels within the Compliance Department and operational departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. The role also involves performing thorough Anti-Money Laundering investigations, utilizing various investigative tools to conduct extensive research. This includes using the Internet, subscription sites, internal systems, and spreadsheets to gather necessary information. The analyst will be responsible for completing SAR pre-prep and ensuring the timely filing of regulatory reports, as well as creating agendas for monthly compliance meetings across multiple properties. Clear communication of casino transaction details and supporting recommendations is essential, as is assisting Compliance management with the review of processing wires and checks to ensure adherence to the company's third-party policy. The analyst will also assist in subpoena production as directed by management and participate in all scheduled training and staff meetings.
