About the position

The Financial Lines Complex Claims Analyst will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and negotiating resolutions for assigned Private and Public Directors and Officers (D&O) claims. This role involves working within a diverse team to ensure claims are handled according to best practices while maintaining relationships with customers, brokers, and internal partners. The position can be based in Chicago, New York, or remotely, depending on the candidate's location.

Responsibilities

• Investigate claims involving complex liability issues on primary and excess Private D&O and Public D&O claims.
• Evaluate coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels; select and direct independent external service providers.
• Negotiate and resolve complex Private and Public D&O claims ensuring cost-effective, service-oriented solutions.
• Ensure claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines.
• Ensure all claims are handled within authority limits and in line with AzC Claims complex procedures and guidelines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5 - 7 years' experience in handling D&O claims involving complex coverage and damage issues.
• Established relationships with brokers at peer group level and within the local market.
• Expert understanding of D&O products and portfolio, including coverage and application in the adjustment process.
• In-depth understanding of regional/local insurance markets and competitor landscape.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly both in writing and verbally.
• Detailed understanding of Public D&O and Private D&O claims products, wordings, terms and conditions, and coverages.
• Solid knowledge of the claim handling process from notification to settlement and recovery.
• Strong writing skills for effective communication.
