About the position

This position is located in the Division of Finance and is responsible for assisting higher level staff in reviewing, analyzing, and coordinating the completion of work assignments related to the administrative, financial, and processing activities. Responsibilities

  • Prepares automated systems and manual journal entries for correction, adjustments, and reallocation of funds in automated financial systems.
  • Reconciles and makes corrections to the daily work within the financial operations area and other accounting subsidiary systems.
  • Receives copies of Payment Vouchers (PV's), vendor invoices, expense adjustments forms, and analyzes and collates documents to determine that the materials or services were properly authorized in accordance with procurement procedures.
  • Prepares Payment Vouchers for input into the PeopleSoft Accounts Payable and Supplemental Payment Systems and ensures accurate input of data into the Accounts Payable and Supplemental systems to properly reflect the Corporation's disbursements activities.
  • Participates in studying, designing, revising and incorporating procedural requirements relating to financial operation activities of the Corporation.
  • Performs research to respond to requests from clients providing detailed and technical explanations of accounting discrepancies or procedural and reporting requirements.
  • Initiates written and/or verbal corrective action with appropriate parties and assists with special projects or division initiatives.
  • Prepares reports of findings and develops recommendations for changes as needed or modifications required based on study findings.
  • Develops, prepares, reviews and evaluates established procedures and regulations, preparing training materials.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Registration with the Selective Service.
  • Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure may be required.
  • National Agency Check Investigation (NACI) required.
  • Applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 7-grade level or above in the Federal service.
  • Specialized experience is defined as utilizing an automated accounts payable and supplemental payment system to prepare journal entries, processing payments and generating financial reports.
  • Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR a combination of education and experience.
