About the position

The Financial Management Analyst will support the Program and Business Analysis Department at NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV Point Mugu. This role involves assisting in the formulation of budgets and estimates, reviewing budget requests, and providing information on organizational budgetary and financial administrative procedures. The analyst will perform specialized work related to accounting systems and resource management, ensuring effective control of funds and resources.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
• Review and evaluate budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
• Provide information about and interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices, and regulations.
• Perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative functions related to accounting systems.
• Conduct analytical, forecasting, and interpretive functions associated with the management and control of resources or funds.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• For GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 level in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• For GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 level in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree for GS-09.
• 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement for GS-07.
