About the position

The Financial Management Analyst will serve as an expert advisor on budget and financial issues affecting national programs within the assigned mission area. This role involves projecting and analyzing the effects of budgetary actions, recommending program adjustments, developing cost methodologies, and interpreting legislation's impact on budget formulation and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on budget and financial issues affecting national programs.
  • Project and analyze the potential effects of budgetary actions on program viability.
  • Recommend program adjustments required by ceiling allowances and changes in executive policy.
  • Examine costs and estimates, developing alternative cost methodologies.
  • Investigate new cost methods and develop complex financial models.
  • Interpret and assess the impact of new legislation on the organization's budget.
  • Review budget justification data for accuracy and adequacy.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or proof of being a U.S. National.
  • 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service.
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating changes in program plans and funding.
  • Experience developing reports and presentations on financial management.
  • Experience reviewing budget justifications and developing budget documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in supervising financial management teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical techniques for financial analysis.
