About the position

The Financial Management Analyst will serve in the Comptroller and Financial Management Department at Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown, VA. The role involves assisting in budget formulation, evaluation of budget requests, and managing financial obligations and expenditures. The analyst will interpret financial procedures and perform specialized work related to accounting systems and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the formulation of budget and estimates.
• Review and evaluate budget requests.
• Control and report obligations and expenditures.
• Provide information about and interpret budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures.
• Perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative functions related to accounting systems.
• Conduct analytical, forecasting, and interpretive functions associated with resource management.
• Perform various fiscal, accounting, or financial management duties.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Required to obtain and maintain Financial Management Level I certification.
• Required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance.
• Experience in budget formulation and execution.
• Knowledge of financial oversight and accounting practices.
