About the position

The Financial Management Analyst position at the U.S. Naval Academy involves examining financial documents for accuracy and compliance, maintaining and reconciling accounts, and preparing various financial reports. The role requires knowledge of financial management systems and the ability to analyze financial data to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, and compliance with regulations for materials and services provided to or by the government.
• Maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data.
• Prepare and download various daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Email daily status reports and analyze weekly commitment and monthly reconciliation reports.
• Work with personnel to reconcile obligations and payments.
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external personnel regarding financial transactions.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• For GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 level in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• For GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 level in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of financial management systems such as N-ERP, PIEE, DCAS, and Defense Travel System.
