About the position

The Financial Management Analyst will serve within the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, focusing on developing, determining, and interpreting budgetary policies and practices. This role involves recommending cost-effective financial management methods for the organization's programs and administrative operations, implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets, and resolving budgetary problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, determine, and interpret budgetary policies and practices.
• Recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management for the organization's programs and administrative operations.
• Implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve a range of budgetary problems, including formulating budget estimates after changes in funding requirements.
• Research regulatory materials to obtain factual information related to assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Experience in following financial management policies and procedures to complete routine financial management, fiscal, or accounting tasks.
• Experience in entering, modifying, storing, and collecting data from a financial management system.
• Experience in identifying budgetary problems and recommending solutions.
• Experience in assisting in the formulation of budget estimates.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field.
• Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
• Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. related to this position.
