About the position

The Financial Management Analyst will serve in the Comptroller Department of SUPSHIP Gulf Coast, responsible for budget administration, including formulation of budget and cost estimates, presenting and defending budget estimates, and analyzing financial management methods. The role requires advising on effective fund acquisition and usage to support organizational programs and resolving budgetary problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform or advise on work in any phase of budget administration including formulation of budget and cost estimates.
• Present and defend budget estimates before authorities.
• Review and evaluate budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
• Analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management.
• Provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve a range of budgetary problems.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
• For GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 level in financial analysis related to budget formulation.
• For GS-09: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 level assisting in budget analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
• Master's or equivalent graduate degree.
