About the position

The Financial Management Coach position at the Child Care Collaborative of Iowa is a full-time, telecommute role focused on providing technical support and promoting long-term financial sustainability for child care businesses in Northeast Iowa. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in early childhood education and fiscal management to assist program leaders in enhancing their operational and financial practices.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers technical assistance to program leaders to support long-term financial sustainability.
  • Collects baseline data regarding business systems and metrics.
  • Supports provider onboarding with selected child care management software (CCMS).
  • Reviews provider data in CCMS to ensure ongoing use of the system and analyze financial metrics.
  • Ensures providers use CCMS for invoicing families and collecting tuition payments.
  • Reviews provider data for program compliance in recordkeeping.
  • Makes recommendations to improve HR policies and reduce turnover.
  • Supports providers in developing effective marketing plans for high enrollment.
  • Reviews program documents to ensure clear fee collection policies.
  • Collects ongoing data to measure impact on provider use of CCMS and financial metrics.
  • Assists providers in establishing financial systems for budgeting and reporting.
  • Provides program services reflecting best practices in adult learning.
  • Maintains a dual focus on relationships and program activities.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of participants.
  • Assists in creating and implementing improvement goals for participants.
  • Utilizes interactive training techniques for participant engagement.
  • Collaborates with other service providers in training design and delivery.
  • Supports child care program directors' professional growth through feedback and discussion.
  • Maintains documentation on session activities.
  • Uses independent judgment in setting daily priorities.
  • Identifies and disseminates relevant resources to co-workers and participants.
  • Communicates positively and respectfully in all interactions.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with co-workers and the community.
  • Maintains confidentiality of private and sensitive information.
  • Adheres to the NAEYC Professional Code of Ethics.
  • Participates in regional and statewide meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, program administration, or related field.
  • At least five years of experience in early childhood education with responsibilities in administration and fiscal management.
  • Experience with child care management systems and business automation solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish preferred.
