About the position

The Financial Manager Comptroller I/II position is responsible for overseeing the fiscal operations within the Finance Division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. This role involves planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising all phases of the agency's financial activities, ensuring compliance with budget policies and regulations, and managing the division's budget effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing personnel and operating budget.
  • Reviewing budget funding requests for merit and authenticity.
  • Reviewing and approving expenditures and obligations.
  • Preparing budget analysis reports and budget estimates.
  • Establishing proper budget controls and business processes to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in business or public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of experience in professional accounting or closely related work, including two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in managing budgets and financial operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables and using formulas.
