About the position

The Financial Manager at the Montana Board of Crime Control is responsible for leading budgeting and accounting functions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing technical assistance regarding state and federal funds. This role requires extensive knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to resolve accounting issues at various governmental levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for budgeting and accounting functions.
  • Oversee accounting and fiscal activities in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Resolve accounting problems and audit exceptions at state, federal, and local levels.
  • Lead the provision of technical assistance to government agencies and the public regarding available funds.
  • Manage preparation of applications, subgrant management, and subgrant reporting.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
  • Five years of dedicated financial job-related experience.
  • Three years of senior-level management experience.
  • Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.
