About the position

The Financial and Operational Analyst at Maria Parham Physician Services plays a crucial role in supporting market leadership by providing comprehensive analysis of operational and financial data. This position is responsible for clinical service line reporting, reimbursement reviews, trend analysis, proformas, forecasts, and monitoring key financial metrics. The analyst will compile and submit monthly reimbursement requests for providers, ensuring adherence to contractual and compliance guidelines. They will also analyze and report on clinic and provider productivity based on established benchmarks, creating detailed financial reports and dashboards for monthly operations reviews with physicians and non-physician practitioners. In addition to reporting, the analyst will perform payment analysis reviews to ensure that payment results meet expectations and will develop integrated revenue and expense analyses. They will identify trends in data analysis and report key findings to support decision-making processes. The role requires the ability to provide administrative-level summaries that concisely present information for leadership, as well as recommendations for changes that optimize efficiencies and reduce costs in healthcare service delivery. The analyst will also support the Market Director and Clinic Managers in monitoring trends and exploring new opportunities for clinic sustainability and growth. This position requires a strong understanding of financial performance improvement opportunities and the ability to coordinate resources across the organization to make informed recommendations. The role is essential in promoting profitability and ensuring effective financial management within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support leadership on financial and operational management projections, reporting, budgetary controls, planning, and analysis to promote profitability.
  • Compile and submit monthly reimbursement requests for providers based on adherence to contractual and compliance guidelines.
  • Analyze and report clinic and provider productivity based on MGMA and established organizational benchmarks.
  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare financials and productivity dashboards for Monthly Operations Reviews with Physicians and Non-Physician Practitioners.
  • Perform payment analysis reviews for services/services lines performed in the clinic setting to ensure payment results meet expectations.
  • Develop integrated revenue and expense analyses as well as enhanced reporting and presentation of the data.
  • Identify trends in data analysis and report key findings.
  • Access and interpret appropriate financial data for purposes of identifying financial performance improvement opportunities.
  • Provide administrative-level summaries that provide concise information for use in decision making.
  • Provide recommendations for changes and processes or practices that optimize efficiencies and/or reduce the total cost of delivering healthcare services.
  • Coordinate and leverage resources across LifePoint to make informed recommendations for financial improvement opportunities.
  • Support Market Director and Clinic Managers in monitoring trends and exploring new opportunities for clinic sustainability and growth.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Degree in Business, Accounting, Financial Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience analyzing operational and financial data required.
  • Strong business mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Moderate computer skills, including frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and graphics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train others and make presentations to department or middle management.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with moderate complexity and to work with minimal supervision.
