About the position

The Financial Operations Analyst position is a critical role within our Finance department, specifically designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to financial reporting and analysis. This hybrid role, based in Morris Plains, NJ, requires a blend of on-site and remote work, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that essential tasks are completed effectively. The primary responsibility of this position is to interpret client contracts to identify Performance Guarantees, which are essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial operations. In addition to contract interpretation, the analyst will assist in gathering both Operational and Non-Operational metrics from various departments within the organization. This involves loading contractual data into our systems, enabling the reporting team to provide accurate information to Account Management for client distribution. The role demands a keen eye for detail, as the analyst will need to examine complex data integrity across various operational datasets. Maintaining the performance guarantee repository accurately and up to date is another key responsibility, ensuring that all information is readily accessible and reliable. Effective communication is paramount in this role, as the analyst will regularly interact with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, and Account Teams, to meet deadlines and resolve any issues that may arise. The successful candidate will be expected to proactively contribute to the development of best practices within the Performance Guarantee team, lead discussions with operational stakeholders, and become an expert on their assigned data loads. Participation in special projects, handling escalations, and conducting ad hoc analyses will also be part of the job, making it a dynamic and engaging position for those looking to grow their careers in financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret client contracts to identify Performance Guarantees.
  • Gather Operational and Non-Operational metrics from the organization.
  • Load contractual data for reporting purposes.
  • Examine complex data integrity across various operational datasets.
  • Maintain the performance guarantee repository accurately and up to date.
  • Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.
  • Lead calls with operational stakeholders regarding data loads.
  • Participate in special projects and assist with escalations.
  • Conduct ongoing communication with the Reporting team regarding inquiries and data validation.
  • Recommend resolutions for identified issues and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and Access; basic SQL skills required.
  • Knowledge of the PBM and healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and ability to work cross-functionally.
