About the position

The Private Label Solutions (PLS) Controllership team at Expedia Group is seeking a creative and collaborative Financial Operations Analyst to support a sophisticated and growing business within the PLS portfolio. This role is integral to the PLS Controllership team, which empowers the delivery of PLS goals through financial intelligence and operational excellence. As a member of this team, you will collaborate closely with various partners to support the rapid growth of the B2B business and drive continuous improvement in execution. You will serve as a trusted advisor, working closely with Account Managers, Product, Finance, and Technology teams, as well as corporate departments such as Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Audit, Accounts Payable, and Billing teams. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the receivables and payables processes, handling partner requests, conducting user acceptance testing, and leading improvement projects for PLS Points Loyalty partners. Your responsibilities will include supporting the month-end closing process, coordinating accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, and assisting with daily email communication with partners, account managers, and other customers. You will also prepare and distribute aging and credit tracker reports for the EPS loyalty portfolio, assist with new partner intake, and support current partnerships by responding to inquiries and concerns. Additionally, you will be tasked with preparing and reviewing monthly reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries for accuracy and reasonableness, supporting SOX and general audit requirements for team controls, and ensuring that internal controls are followed. You will provide proactive recommendations for changes to the internal control infrastructure as needed and partner with multiple teams to continuously evaluate the quality of financial outputs, driving continuous improvement in execution. This role also involves supporting ongoing automation and general process improvements for business operations by collaborating closely with key partners from Oracle, Product, Tech, and Commercial teams to enable and lead change. Other ad hoc projects may also be assigned to support EPS Enterprise Solutions critical initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support partner requirements for billing, cash settlements, reporting, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and distribute ageing and credit tracker reports for the EPS loyalty portfolio
  • Assist with new partner intake including set-up for billing, cash settlement, and reporting packages
  • Support current partnerships by responding to inquiries, concerns, and investigation requests
  • Prepare/Review monthly reconciliations, accruals and journal entries for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Support SOX and general audit requirements for team controls
  • Ensure that internal controls are followed and provide proactive recommendations for changes to the internal control infrastructure where required
  • Partner with multiple teams to continuously evaluate the quality of financial outputs, and proactively drive continuous improvement in execution
  • Support the ongoing automation and general process improvements for business operations by collaborating closely with key partners from Oracle, Product, Tech and Commercial teams to enable and lead change
  • Other ad hoc projects supporting EPS Enterprise Solutions critical initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • 5+ years professional Finance or Accounting experience
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/PeopleSoft/Hyperion Planning), Looker, SQL and Tableau is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience of handling large and complex data sets
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to convert raw data into actionable business insights
  • Excellent social skills and excels working across departmental and company boundaries with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to handle many conflicting tasks, and deliver against contending priorities
  • Confirmed ability to analyze data to solve business problems and provide business insight, communicating complex issues effectively
  • Operates autonomously with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
