About the position

As a Financial Operations Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational financial efficiency and overall financial performance of the organization. This position involves analyzing various financial aspects of the company's agricultural operations to drive strategic decision-making and optimize processes.

Responsibilities

  • Project and compare actual revenues and expenditures for each property; consult with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Bookkeeper.
  • Track and collect all management fees, acquisition fees, development fees, and revenues per asset/contract with all partnerships and business entities.
  • Compile monthly reporting, ongoing portfolio analysis, quarterly investor reports, cash equity positions, and year-end budget review and projections for all managed assets for institutional investors.
  • Conduct detailed analysis in the feasibility of farm management prospects and farm acquisitions, including tax impacts and structuring, underwriting, and income and valuation estimates.
  • Provide financial due diligence research for any new farm management prospect; maintain property titles and provide acreage and related data.
  • Work with external auditors and CPA firms in the filing of year-end tax reports and financial statements.
  • Track and analyze Company revenue and provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Assist in overall company budgeting, operational budgeting by ranch and management customer, and CAPEX budgeting by ranch and management customer.
  • Organize and maintain related financial, operational, and administrative records for the company, by ranch, and by management customer.
  • Manage and fulfill US, CA, and Delaware entity regulatory reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations Research, or a closely related field is required.
  • 3+ years minimum of professional experience related to finance, accounting, real estate, and operations management is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of financial accounting principles and forecasting practices.
  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and practices.
  • Basic knowledge/experience in real estate acquisition, mergers, and development, equity investment, and investor reporting practices and methods.
  • Knowledge of agricultural economics and operations, crop and water management needs, and tax planning practices and requirements are preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting practices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll practices.
  • Ability to analyze land use, pricing rates, potential yield rates and acquisition for operations performance reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
