About the position

The Financial Operations Coordinator at the University of Central Missouri is responsible for overseeing the fiscal operations of the Missouri Safety Center (MSC). This role includes financial planning, budgeting, procurement, accounting, and reporting, as well as managing grant fiscal operations. The coordinator serves as a liaison between various departments and external funding authorities, ensuring compliance with fiscal policies and procedures while providing guidance on financial decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the fiscal operation of all MSC divisions including financial planning, budgeting, procurement, accounting, and reporting.
  • Manage all grant fiscal operations and provide forecasts and guidance on fiscal decisions.
  • Coordinate, account, and authorize expenditures, prepare and reconcile invoices, payment requests, payroll expenditures, and travel expenses.
  • Serve as the fiscal operations liaison between the MSC and various departments such as Academic Affairs, Finance and Administration, Payroll, and Human Resources.
  • Reconcile disputes and discrepancies with externally funded grant/contract/trust fund authorities.
  • Responsible for all fiscal auditing procedures, both internal and external.
  • Manage new-hire and re-hire processes and records systems.
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Director of the MSC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Two years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including financial planning, contracts, budgeting, and financial systems management.
  • Experience in grant management and controls is required.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.
