About the position

As a Financial Operations Specialist at CBRE, you will play a crucial role in supporting various projects, implementations, and training sessions aimed at enhancing process improvements within the finance department. This position is integral to the Financial Strategy and Operations function, where you will be responsible for maintaining accounting, financial, and reporting policies and controls. The role is hybrid, requiring at least one day in the office each week, allowing for a blend of remote and in-person collaboration. In this position, you will collect and analyze data related to transactional activities, which includes vendor invoice processing, tax processing, lease administration, and cash receipt applications. You will evaluate process improvement initiatives that have been identified and assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic inquiries and requests from internal customers. Your contributions will be vital in implementing process improvements and communicating results to stakeholders effectively. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve responding to simple inquiries from internal customers and utilizing existing procedures to address straightforward problems. You will be expected to deliver your output by adhering to defined procedures and processes, all while working under close supervision and guidance. The impact of your role will be felt through the execution of clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks that are described in detail, ensuring that the financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data on transactional activities including vendor invoice processing, tax processing, lease administration, and cash receipt applications.
  • Evaluate identified process improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic inquiries and requests from internal customers.
  • Assist with implementing process improvements and providing results to stakeholders.
  • Respond to simple inquiries from internal customers.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with up to 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to craft routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in financial terms and principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree with concentration in Business or Finance preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer software and hardware, including multiple accounting software applications.
