About the position

The FP&A Analyst at Oldcastle APG will play a crucial role in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting. This position is responsible for providing insightful financial and operational analyses to support decision-making for internal and external stakeholders. The analyst will leverage business intelligence tools to visualize metrics and key performance indicators, ultimately aiding in the improvement of profitability across various functions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and report key financial and operating metrics.
  • Identify trends, track progress, and make recommendations.
  • Create analyses through charts, graphs, or other analytics to summarize business performance.
  • Develop presentation materials for executive and leadership meetings.
  • Articulate the story behind the numbers based on sound analysis and a deep understanding of the business.
  • Coordinate the weekly forecasting process and own the associated analytical and reporting deliverables.
  • Responsible for management reporting of the company's financial performance, including analysis of results and development of insightful commentary.
  • Develop a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production variances.
  • Be a strong business partner to sales and operations, contributing to their efficacy via insightful analysis and reporting.
  • Perform ad hoc projects and analyses to support senior management and business leaders.
  • Conduct pricing analysis to track the impact of pricing on revenues.
  • Monthly analysis of financial results and modeling of projected performance.
  • Responsible for Working Capital and Fixed Overhead spending analysis.
  • Analyze and incorporate relevant economic and industry trends in forward-looking business analysis to influence effective decision-making.
  • Oversee cost control systems and manage BOM Workbooks for manufacturing locations.
  • Work with sites to maintain standard costs of raw materials, packaging, machines, and finished goods.
  • Gather historical data to compare budgets with actual costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a related role.
  • Working knowledge of production/costing software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in presenting information to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel between facilities - 20% (California).
  • Experience using Business Intelligence Software Tableau and Salesforce.
