About the position

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager at Beacon Sales Acquisition, Inc. plays a crucial role in overseeing financial analysis for the North Central Region, which includes Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. This position is integral to the organization, focusing on timely preparation and analysis of financial results, supporting operational improvements, and ensuring efficient reporting processes. The role emphasizes strategic thinking, hands-on problem-solving, and effective communication with various levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Timely preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
  • Conduct variance analysis, Line-of-Business analysis, trend analysis, and profitability analysis for customers, vendors, and items.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex financial data from various systems to determine financial performance and trends.
  • Communicate and present financial results and analytical reports to branch, region, and division management.
  • Provide financial support to field operations to enhance business unit performance.
  • Collaborate with the Division FP&A team to streamline processes for improved efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Support the annual budget process, planning, and forecasting activities for the responsible regions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of financial experience.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting understanding and experience with quantitative and qualitative financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, especially advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in a multi-location environment with the ability to communicate and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to analyze large volumes of data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Excel Power Pivot, Power Query, Tableau, Prophix, Mincron, and Cognos.
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-performance work environment and team-oriented culture.
