The Financial Planning Analyst role at Northwestern Mutual is a pivotal position that focuses on client service and the processing of variable products and other securities. The analyst will work closely with financial advisors to gather necessary information and specific instructions for input into financial planning software, which includes all modules related to asset allocation. In addition to data entry, the Financial Planning Analyst will be responsible for maintaining compliance for assigned client cases, managing the DocuSign and client signature processes to meet appropriate deadlines, and preparing and processing all necessary paperwork for investment and advisory accounts. The role also involves discussing potential rollover opportunities from other retirement plans, receiving and forwarding checks and related paperwork to the investment operations area, and processing and monitoring the funding of advisory accounts to ensure that the selected asset allocation is implemented effectively. The analyst will execute trades for brokerage and advisory accounts, process various asset movement transactions on behalf of clients, and support the planning team in investment allocation and strategies. This includes accepting redemptions and withdrawals from clients and communicating instructions to the home office, as well as running performance reports using tools such as Envestnet, Morningstar, and NMCIR. Overall, this role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality and a desire to learn and grow within the team.
