About the position

The Financial Planning Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting finance, operations, and sales through financial and profitability analysis. This position involves leading the compilation and review of the annual budget and recurring forecasts, ensuring timely completion of monthly financial close activities, and interfacing with the sales team to develop pricing strategies. The analyst will also support the corporate development team in evaluating potential acquisitions and will be responsible for maintaining accurate costing information for decision-making purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Support finance, operations, and sales with financial and profitability analysis.
  • Lead the compilation and review of the annual budget and recurring forecasts.
  • Ensure timely completion of activities related to monthly financial close.
  • Interface with the sales team on developing pricing for new programs.
  • Provide accurate costing information for decision making.
  • Familiarize with the company ERP and BI software to support operations and sales teams.
  • Identify areas for improvement in financial processes.
  • Support the corporate development team in evaluating and integrating potential acquisition candidates.
  • Coordinate with Accounting, Plant, and Business Managers to complete FP&A analysis on monthly financials.
  • Perform regular reviews of product costs and profitability.
  • Support quoting activities with sales teams.
  • Identify and capitalize on cost improvement initiatives with the operations team.
  • Assist in month-end accounting close and annual audit as required.
  • Compile information required for annual budgets and forecasts with various teams.
  • Implement processes related to accounting/finance in coordination with accounting.
  • Maintain knowledge of organizational policies, federal and state policies, and current accounting standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information regarding company affairs.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and professional societies.
  • Ensure tasks are covered by trained personnel in your absence.

Requirements

  • A.S degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting/financial analysis role is required.
  • Experience with Finance or Accounting is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence software is preferred.
