About the position

The Financial Planning & Business Analyst at Valmont Industries is responsible for conducting complex financial analysis and providing insights to support business decisions. This role involves monitoring business drivers, performing profitability analyses, and collaborating with various stakeholders to influence strategic planning and financial forecasting. The analyst will leverage technology and financial modeling to support internal customers and contribute to the overall goals of the business segment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document financial, economic, and statistical analysis projects.
  • Monitor business drivers to highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial analysis and reports.
  • Support planning and forecasting processes including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Identify business risks and opportunities through profitability analyses.
  • Leverage technology for deep dive analysis to enable decision making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define and track key performance indicators.
  • Drive process improvement efforts and train others in financial work.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models for forecasting and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including pro forma and forecasted financial statements.
  • Understanding of macroeconomic factors affecting financial performance.
  • Ability to navigate and problem-solve in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage time-sensitive projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or advanced analytics degree.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with machine learning models or AI analysis.
  • Proficiency in OneStream/Hyperion/HFM tools.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI or other analytical tools.
  • Experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, or supply chain industries.
