As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for designing and executing processes that ensure the comprehensive delivery of complex financial and regulatory reports. This includes utilizing your in-depth knowledge of industry standards relevant to financial statements and employing critical thinking to analyze and interpret financial outcomes. You will compile and evaluate intricate financial and regulatory documents, including audited statements and supporting schedules, and engage regularly with management, regulatory bodies, and business partners to facilitate necessary discussions and actions. In this role, you will also track, evaluate, and interpret new and forthcoming changes in financial reporting standards to assess their impact on the organization. Acting as an advisor to management, you will serve as a trusted resource for team members and mentor peers. Collaboration with various departments is essential to ensure the timely and accurate collection of necessary information, and you will be responsible for organizing and prioritizing the upkeep of processes, procedures, tools, and resources. Additionally, you will handle ad hoc reporting requests and other duties as assigned, making this a dynamic and engaging position.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute processes to ensure the comprehensive delivery of complex financial and regulatory reports.
  • Utilize and apply in-depth knowledge of industry standards relevant to financial statements.
  • Employ critical thinking to analyze and interpret financial outcomes, regulatory data, and their interconnections with business and financial statements.
  • Compile and evaluate intricate financial and regulatory documents, including audited statements and supporting schedules.
  • Engage regularly with management, regulatory bodies, and business partners to facilitate necessary discussions and actions.
  • Track, evaluate, and interpret new and forthcoming changes in financial reporting standards to assess organizational impacts.
  • Act as an advisor to management and a trusted resource for team members, also serving as a mentor to peers.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure the timely and accurate collection of necessary information.
  • Organize and prioritize the upkeep of processes, procedures, tools, and resources.
  • Handle ad hoc reporting requests and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology (Associates degree + 2 years of experience may be substituted).
  • 1-3 years of General Ledger experience.
  • Excellent computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Advanced Excel skills highly preferred (Complex Formulas, Power Query, Macros, VBA, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Coding experience preferred (SQL).
  • Solid understanding of Accounting principles, procedures, and GAAP.
  • Experience preparing and delivering Call Reports preferred.
  • Experience preparing banking compliance reporting preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving prowess.
  • Ability to work well in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Mortgage and/or banking experience a plus.
  • Experience with financial certifications (CFA, CPA, etc.) is a plus.
